Home construction innovation firm ICON partnered with the non-profit New Story in building the first home (that was given a certificate of occupancy), built in less than 24 hours using a "printing" technology cement laying frame. They showed the new home to the public in March 2018, in Austin, TX. The demo home cost a final developer's cost of $4000 and was printed using a Vulcan printer, which can print an 800sf home.

The two firms intend on building entire towns with the new technology, specifically addressing the needs of the more than one billion people living below poverty line throughout the world that do not live in proper dwellings. More on this at ICON's website.
