4 Ways to Stay Motivated When You’re in a Rut via NYTimes

Now that the holiday season is upon us and we are bouncing from one holiday party to the next, here are four great ways to beat the sluggishness that the holidays can bring.

1. Start Small - Break larger tasks into smaller pieces and start from the ground up. Think of it as a mountain to climb and just take the first step.

2. Find an Accountability Partner - Whether it is a friend, family member, co-worker, or calendar reminder, find a way to hold yourself accountable for the tasks you are having trouble committing yourself to do.

3. Take a Break - Have a snack, stretch at your desk or socialize with your co-workers! Do anything that will re-energize you and increase your blood flow.

4. Practice Kindness to #1 - That's right! Practice kindness to yourself. Acknowledge the fact that you're doing the best you can and don't let the negative thoughts weigh you down.
